Have i actually, finally, found the answer??

Differences between Male and Female Acne

I am 18 years old and have suffered from pretty bad acne since I was about thirteen. Many of the products I've tried simply haven't worked or worked for only a little while. At the same time, my 14 year old sister will use the same products I have and have clear skin within a week. I decided to do some research on my own and found out a few things about male and female acne. Believe it or not there is a difference.

-Male Skin is 25% thicker than female skin.

-Lipid composition is different

Shrimp Shells for Teen Acne?

Hello Everybody!

As a skin therapist I always keep up to date with acne treatments for teens. I thought this week it might be interesting to look at the latest acne cures and research. As we all know not all treatments work well, and some of them will cost an arm and a leg! This is why I always tell my patients to stay informed-you never know when a new product might come onto the market that may work for you.

Can Stress Worsen Teen Acne?

Yes it most certainly can! A study on stress and acne conducted last year by researchers at Wake Forest University School of Medicine found that stress makes teen acne worse. Many had suspected this for years but no conclusive proof existed. The study determined that teens who experienced high stress levels were 23% more likely to have acne that was more severe than their less stressed peers.

Prescription Acne Treatments and Their Side-effects

Not every treatment that claims to cure acne actually keeps its promises. Most teen acne sufferers (and their parents!) have experienced the disappointment of products that fail to deliver, and this can, of course, be heartbreaking. Not only do many remedies fail to work, they can also be very damaging to the skin and sometimes even the rest of the body.

Most prescription acne treatments fall into four groups namely:

Acne and Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy works for some cases of teen acne, but like all acne treatments not every skin will respond to essential oils.
