My name is Johanna Curtis and I’m a licensed skin care professional or (if you prefer a fancier term): Esthetician, with more than ten years experience treating skin problems in teens and adults, including acne. I live in North Carolina, USA where I have owned a spa in the Chapell Hill area since 2001. In my practice, I often see teens and adults struggling with acne and as a parent I want to help. I am also a caring parent of two children who endured the struggles of acne during their early teens.
Most people wouldn’t expect a licensed skin care professional to experience the same struggles helping her children to cope with acne, as other parents, but I did! The fact that I am a skin care professional didn’t mean that my children would be immune from the effects of acne. When my children became teens I went through all the same frustrations of trying to find an effective, non-damaging, natural product that would help treat their skin and free them from their emotional prison.
My children are now older (16 and 18 respectively) and have been able to place their struggles with acne firmly behind them. Through trying to find a way to help my children, I became a better skin care professional and my experience taught me that natural remedies are far more effective in treating acne than prescription medications which damage the skin’s sensitive cells. What teens with acne really need is a product that is targeted to heal the problem gently and effectively and delivers what it promises.
What many people don’t know is that acne doesn’t need to be treated by a dermatologist. In my practice I teach my patients how to treat acne with a few targeted dietary changes and a good all-natural, non-damaging topical treatment (like Acnezine) that is targeted to treat acne and keep it away. If the correct product is used, coupled with some daily menu changes and psychological support there is no reason that acne needs to be in control of your life.
I created this web site to help teens and parents who have suffered the embarrassment of acne to find solutions, advice, friends and most importantly-hope. At the end of the day it’s all about the acne going away and the smile coming back. That's what gives me the greatest satisfaction. I want to let not only teens, but also parents know that a happier day is coming where acne can be treated and the teens personality be restored.
